Schedule an appointment with for your Class 5 non-probationary licence.
This licence will allow you to drive with all of the rights and privileges of a fully licensed Class 5 Alberta driver.

  • Step One
    Make sure you are eligible to take a Class 5 non-probationary (advanced) road test.

    You must have your Class 5 probationary (basic) licence for 24 months from the date it was issued.
    You must be suspension free for the last 12 months.

    If you are taking this test for reinstatement purposes, contact the registry before you book to confirm that you are eligible to take a Class 5 Advanced road test.

    By reserving online with you can avoid making two trips to the registry.
    Schedule and purchase online through PayPal.
  • Step Three
    Obtain your prepaid test permit
    Don't forget to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled road test, which will allow you the time to obtain your permit.
    Your road test cannot begin without this permit, which is included in the online price of your reservation.
  • Step Four
    Take your road test. Good Luck!
    If you pass your road test, you can reclassify your existing Class 5 probationary (basic) driver's licence to a Class 5 non-probationary (advanced) licence.
